What Are BackLinks

Hello!

You hear a lot of mentors telling us the importance of Backlinks in promoting you website.. Just what are backlinks?

Backlinks...also known as incoming links, inbound links, inlinks, and inward links, are incoming links to a website or web page.Ā Ā  In basic link terminology, a backlink is any link received by a web node (web page, directory, website, or top level domain) from another web node.

Ā Their significance lies in search engine optimization (SEO). The number of backlinks is one indication of the popularity or importance of that website or page. ( This is used by Google to determine the PageRank of a webpage). Outside of SEO, the backlinks of a webpage may be of significant personal, cultural or semantic interest: they indicate who is paying attention to that page.
Search engines often use the number of backlinks that a website has as one of the most important factors for determining that website’s search engine ranking, popularity and importance.

In simple language… When you comment on someones blog or website and give your website, that is a backlink.Ā  It is also i0mportant to note that the more popular that host website is, the more weight it will carry and the better for you. so it is to yur advantage to leave comments on the ‘bigger’ more popular sites.

There are 2 sites that deserve your attention if you are interested in getting more backlinks.
The first is Social Monkey.Ā  This is a great little program that teaches you the importance of backlinks as well as setting you up to start getting them on a regular basis. It’s free to join, and you can earn an upgrade if you like to benefit even more. Do check it out.

SIC Training About Message Magic

We just had a great training on our Second Income Coach power hour tonight.
Steve did his usual explanation of SIC and what makes it an outstanding funded marketing system, and the Janet gave us an overview of a Skype add on program called Message Magic.
Wow! What a terrific program. I’ve been an inactive member for months, but never really tool a look at what has been available to me.Ā  I love using skype for both business and personal messaging, and my contacts have grown consistently, but now I am able to explode my list of contacts is a very short time with little effort.Ā  I can add whole chat rooms to my list with just a couple of clicks. Ā  I can target people with specific interest all over the world, Message Magic translates so easily. Now I can send a message to all of my contacts at once, ORĀ  to specific groups I have created.
Just think of the potential for getting the word out for your product or business.
But… remember Skype and Message Magic are still for building relationships.Ā  Don’t SPAM. It’s so rude. People hate it when they get a ‘Hello! Here’s my link’ or ‘Join my company’.Ā  Make friends, ask questions, show concern, network with people.Ā  They’ll eventually will ask you what you are in to.
